Today we are in Orta. Light rain on and off but the best day thus far.
Small city on the lake with a UNESCO site that dates to the early 1600s. Sacro Monte of Orta (sacrimonti.org)
The dog in the pictures was at breakfast...the owner told him to stay, went to get his food, and returned...they must have great dog obedience schools in Italy!
Great small streets, beautiful wisteria, and old churches and buildings!
Then took a ferry (5 euro each for round trip!) to the Isola San Giulio which has a church that dates back to 600AD! Basilica di San Giulio - Wikipedia
Had a great lunch at a small trattoria.
Tip of the day...buy good rain jackets!
